Evidence comes before the draft

Each story begins with a source packet and a claim ledger. Primary evidence can include public records, regulator documents, automaker or supplier materials, direct interviews, and first-hand testing performed by a named person. High-quality independent reporting can add context, but a search snippet, AI summary, copied press-release mirror, anonymous aggregator, or unsourced social post is not evidence.

Material factual claims must map to available sources. Conflicts and unknowns are recorded instead of being smoothed over. Safety, legal, pricing, accusation, recall, financial, and high-consequence specification claims receive the highest risk classification present in the story.

Original contribution is required

Every article must add something useful: primary-document analysis, a verified comparison, a maintained timeline, qualified practical guidance, original reporting, or a synthesis that changes the reader’s understanding. Rephrasing another publication does not qualify.

Quotes remain short, attributed, and necessary. Source links are evidence trails, not manufactured backlinks.

Humans hold publication authority

Automation may help discover leads, organize source packets, draft copy, suggest links, or run checks. It cannot satisfy the human review gate or publish on its own. High-risk stories require primary-capable evidence and review by a real person. Interviews, tests, opinions, and experience claims require the real person who performed or owns that work.

The publication gate binds approval to the exact public article, relevant public identities and media, and private source, claim, rights, review, and correction records. A material change invalidates that approval.

Media, disclosure, and independence

Images require documented ownership, license, permission, or qualified fair-use reasoning before publication. Credits must be accurate. We do not use an attractive image first and investigate rights later.

Affiliate or sponsored relationships never purchase a conclusion. Commissionable links require plain-language disclosure close to the recommendation and rel="sponsored" qualification. See the affiliate disclosure and automation transparency policy.

Updates and retirement

Material updates receive a visible timestamp. Factual corrections receive a public correction note describing what changed. A page that can no longer serve its original reader intent may be retired with a public explanation; retirement is not used to hide a correction.
